Mindful Figure Drawing January 28th
Begin the new year with intention and creativity. This Mindful Figure Drawing session opens with a guided meditation led by art therapist Miriam Kagan, followed by a 1-hour nude figure drawing experience with two models in a supportive group setting. This wellness workshop invites you to ground yourself, set intentions for the year ahead, and connect with like-minded peers through meditative art-making.
Our Models:
Sarah: Sarah O’Grady (she/they) is a Brooklyn-based graphic designer, model, coach, and poet with roots in fine arts and a deep love for all artistic mediums. With 6 years of experience in design and over 7 years in the fashion industry, they bring an expressive, art-driven approach to visual storytelling. Creativity and authentic expression are central to their work, shaping their passion for mentoring, making art accessible, and using design to foster connection and community.
Samantha: Samantha Martins (she/her/ella) (@lovemusicyoga) is a Queer Afro-Latina interdisciplinary wellness practitioner, writer, plant medicine educator, and artist from Rananchqua, a.k.a The Bronx. With nearly 2 decades of experience studying, practicing, and teaching, her work is centered around decolonizing and sharing the wisdom of Yoga, mindfulness, and somatics, and destigmatizing mental health issues. Her aim is to educate, elevate, and empower people by integrating and sharing the tools of holistic practices, plant medicine, self inquiry, and the arts for optimal mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.
Hosted by: Miriam Kagan, LCAT (she/her), is a Brooklyn-based psychedelic-assisted art therapist who specializes in visualizations, intuitive tarot readings, and integration of altered states of consciousness. Using a trauma-informed approach and warm, welcoming presence, Miriam supports the New York community in healing and personal growth.
